Danilo Giacovazzi CA, CPA has extensive experience in financial leadership and strategy. Danilo is currently the Group Chief Financial Officer at Coinsquare, a Canadian digital asset firm. In this role, they are responsible for overseeing trading, investing, and storing digital assets.

Prior to Coinsquare, Giacovazzi served as the Joint Chief Operating Officer (COO) and Chief Financial Officer (CFO) at Nōwn. During their tenure, they managed daily operational activities and implemented strategic goals, helping the company achieve over $1.5 million in gross ARR.

Danilo has also held the position of Chief Financial Officer (CFO) at Noventa Energy Partners, where they provided financial leadership and direction to a renewable energy project developer. Additionally, Giacovazzi worked as the CFO at NorthRand Capital, an advisory firm specializing in financial markets.

Before their CFO roles, they held various positions at Investec, including Principal - Capital Markets, Senior Associate - Private Capital, and Analyst - Rotational Internship. In these roles, they managed investment portfolios, conducted financial structuring for clients, and gained experience in treasury sales and structuring.

Danilo obtained a Master of Finance (MFin) degree from the University of Toronto - Rotman School of Management from 2019 to 2021. Prior to that, they earned a Bachelor of Commerce degree with honors in Accounting from the University of South Africa/Universiteit van Suid-Afrika in 2009. In the same year, they also obtained a Bachelor of Commerce degree with honors in Finance & Investments, graduating cum laude. Before this, from 2004 to 2007, they studied Finance & Accounting at the University of the Witwatersrand.

Additionally, they hold several certifications. Danilo became a Chartered Accountant, Chartered Professional Accountant (CA, CPA) from the Chartered Professional Accountants of Ontario (CPA Ontario) in 2017. In 2012, they achieved the designation of Chartered Accountant (CA) from SAICA CA(SA). Danilo has also obtained the Chief Financial Officer certification from the IIROC (Investment Industry Regulatory Organization of Canada) in 2022. Furthermore, they received the Management Essentials for Finance Professionals Certificate from the University of Toronto - Rotman School of Management in 2020. In 2018, they passed the CFA Level 2 examination conducted by the CFA Institute.
