Rod Richardson has a diverse work experience spanning over four decades. Rod started their career in the Armed Forces, advancing from an apprentice mechanical engineer to WO1 Senior Engineer and Captain. During this time, they were responsible for training military and civilian engineering personnel and implementing technical training programs for new aircraft.
After leaving the Armed Forces, Rod worked for Network Rail as an Area Delivery Planning Manager, where they managed the planning and delivery of major projects and engineering maintenance for the rail infrastructure.
Rod then joined Shell as a Senior Infrastructure and Logistics Strategy Advisor, where they developed logistics contracting strategies and integrated multiple work streams into the organization's project management system.
Rod also worked as a Project Management Consultant for Aker Slolutions, delivering project logistics supply chains for infrastructure projects.
In their role at Origin Energy, they served as a Logistics Project Manager, overseeing the logistics infrastructure, supply chain, and material management for a large-scale LNG energy project in Australia. Rod achieved significant cost savings and reductions in heavy haulage costs.
Rod's experience also includes a role as a Programme Manager at Colchester Hospital NHS, where they managed projects to improve operational metrics and patient flow in the Urgent Care department.
Most recently, Rod has worked at Tengizchevroil as an Interface Manager and Logistics SOOG Lead, and is currently serving as the Head of Design and Construction Management at Colchester Borough Homes. In both roles, they have been responsible for overseeing and managing complex engineering projects and delivering high-quality construction services.
Throughout their career, Rod has demonstrated expertise in project management, logistics, and infrastructure planning, with a focus on delivering projects on time and within budget.
Rod Richardson CMgr MCMI, CMILT, MIMechE IEng has a Diploma in Project Management from the University of New England (AU) from 2010 to 2012. Rod also holds a Diploma in Management and Operational Management from The Open University, which they obtained between 1999 and 2001. Further, they have a HND in Mechanical Engineering from the School of Royal Electrical and Mechanical Engineering - REME, achieved from 1978 to 1983. Additionally, Rod attended Woodmill High, although the degree and field of study are not specified.
