Astrid Deschenes

Astrid Deschenes is an accomplished computational science developer with extensive experience in bioinformatics and software development. Since July 2017, Astrid has been working at Cold Spring Harbor Laboratory, focusing on tumor versus metastasis RNA-Seq analysis and developing R packages for copy number analysis and HLA clustering. Prior positions include research assistant roles in bioinformatics at the Centre de recherche du CHU de Québec and Laval University, where significant contributions were made to SNP detection pipelines and bioinformatic software testing. Astrid's background also includes software development and IT consultancy at various companies, leveraging programming skills in languages such as Java, C#, and C/C++. Astrid holds a Master's degree in Chemical Engineering and a Minor in Computer Sciences from Université Laval, complemented by participation in the 18th Summer Institute in Statistical Genetics.
