Hannah Churton has a diverse background in various fields, starting from their work as a Liaison Officer at the Australian Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade in 2007. Hannah then held positions such as a Diplomat, Foreign Policy Officer, and Human Rights Officer, where they contributed to policy development and implementation, managed relationships with stakeholders, and provided high-level reporting on political and environmental challenges. Hannah later transitioned to the role of Deputy Director, where they managed and coordinated foreign policy aspects and drafted whole-of-government advice for the Foreign Minister. Hannah also worked as a Consultant for the World Food Programme, conducting analysis and engaging with various organizations to support food production and agriculture in the West Bank. In 2016, they founded The Worm Monger, focusing on education, consultation, and developing tailored organic waste management systems. Currently, they work as a Governance and Policy Consultant at Collaboration for Impact. Before that, they were a PhD candidate at Fight Food Waste CRC. Overall, Hannah brings extensive experience in policy development, stakeholder management, and sustainability initiatives to their work.

Hannah Churton has a diverse education history. Hannah initially attended the University of Wollongong from 1997 to 2004, where they earned a Bachelor of Arts/Bachelor of Law degree with a focus on Communication. During their undergraduate studies, they also participated in a student exchange program at Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität München in 2001-2002.

After completing their undergraduate degree, Hannah pursued further education at The Australian National University from 2009 to 2012. There, they obtained a Masters of Applied Anthropology & Participatory Development, specializing in Conflict.

Currently, Hannah is enrolled at the University of Southern Queensland, where they are expected to complete a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree in Food Waste, starting in 2021 and ending in 2024.
