Deputy Director South at COLLABORATIVE SUPPORT PROGRAMS

Lance T. Smith Sr., MSL, MPA, CPRP is the Deputy Director of the southern integrated region of CSPNJ. He has been with the agency since 2005 and began his career in the behavioral health sector as the Regional Team Leader for the CSPNJ Southeast regional operations. After working as the Regional Team Leader within the Southeast operations for 7 years, in 2011, Lance was promoted to Regional Coordinator of CSPNJ Southwest operations and subsequently commissioned to develop a supportive services operational construct within Camden County NJ and in partnership with the Camden County regional Continuum of Care (CoC). In 2019, Lance’s responsibilities were expanded to include Community Support Services (CSS) operations within Salem County NJ, Gloucester County NJ, and Cumberland County NJ. Under his leadership, regional operations for the preceding areas were both deconstructed and reconstructed to represent optimal services delivery as is relates to CSS regulatory dimensions and agency strategic planning. His current role as Deputy Director has once again expanded his responsibilities to include operational oversight of the entire CSPNJ CSS operations within the southern part of New Jersey of which includes 6 CSPNJ Wellness Centers. He graduated from the University of Arizona with his bachelor’s in Organizational Leadership and a minor in Political Science and Government. In addition, Lance graduated with his Master of Science in Organizational Leadership with an emphasis on Leadership Development and furthered his educational journey to include a Master of Public Administration degree from Grand Canyon University (GCU). He is a former Atlantic County NJ Mental Health board member and holds various CoC committee positions including the Permanent Supportive Housing committee, Vice Chair of the Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion committee, and the Homeless Network Planning Committee (HNPC)/CEAS Membership.
