Francesco Muntoni, M.D., is a pediatric neurologist at UCL Great Ormond Street Institute of Child Health in London. He has investigated childhood neuromuscular disorders at a variety of institutions in Italy and the U.K. including the Hammersmith Hospital, Imperial College London. Dr. Muntoni’s work has helped identify dozens of genes involved in neuromuscular disorders. He is leading on natural history studies on Duchenne muscular dystrophy and on clinical trials into possible novel treatments for this condition.
