Sharona Sommer has over three decades of work experience in various roles. Sharona started their career as a Special Education Paraprofessional at Laurenval and Lester B. Pearson School Boards in 1989 and held this position until 2001. From 2005 to 2007, they owned and operated their own business called Savor The Moment- Personal Chef Service. Sharona then joined The College Internship Program in 2007 as a Head Student Advisor, a role they held until 2013.

In 2013, they started their own coaching and consulting business called Sharona Coaching and Consulting. As a Certified Professional Coach, they specialized in working with families dealing with Asperger's and Learning Differences. Sharona provided personalized coaching to help clients achieve personal and family growth.

Sharona then returned to The College Internship Program in 2016, initially as the Director of Family Services. In this role, they focused on enhancing and improving permanency outcomes for families by providing guidance and coaching to parents of CIP students. Later in 2019, they transitioned to the position of National Director of Learning and Development, where they continued to support families and also provided training and development opportunities for staff.

Throughout their career, Sharona has gained extensive experience in education, coaching, and consulting. Sharona'sexpertise lies in coaching parents, empowering individuals with special needs, and facilitating personal and family growth.

Sharona Sommer, CPC, APTD has a Certificate in Asperger's Studies from Elms College, which they obtained from 2011 to 2013. Sharona also attended Vanier College from 1986 to 1989, where they earned a degree in Special Care Counseling with a field of study in Special Needs. Furthermore, Sharona Sommer is a Certified Professional Coach from iPEC. In addition to their formal education, they hold several certifications including The AI Game-Changer for L&D from CoRise, obtained in July 2023, Coaching Skills for Leaders and Managers from LinkedIn, obtained in February 2023, Associate Professional in Talent Development from ATD CI - The ATD Certification Institute, obtained in September 2021, and PEERS® for Young Adults Certified from UCLA Program for the Education and Enrichment of Relational Skills, also obtained in September 2021.
