Richard Grant Gilmore III serves as the Director of the Historic Preservation and Community Planning BA Program at the College of Charleston since August 2014, where responsibilities include program coordination and holding the Addlestone Chair in Historic Preservation. Additionally, Richard is the Development Chair and Board Member of World Heritage USA, focusing on cultural resources exchange and preservation knowledge. Other roles include Board Member on the Programming Subcommittee for the International African American Museum, Partner at Cultural Heritage Management International, LLC, and Executive Committee Member for the Center for the Study of Slavery in Charleston. Richard has also contributed as an Expert Member of the ICOMOS International Scientific Committee for Archaeological Heritage Management and previously served as Director of the Community Planning, Policy, and Design MA Program. Educational credentials include a Ph.D. in Archaeology from UCL, a Master's Degree in Archaeology, and a Bachelor's degree in History and Government, both from William & Mary.
