James Engel

James Engel has a diverse work experience spanning over several companies. James began their career as an intern at Aquesta Bank in 2008 before moving on to work as a Graduate Assistant at Appalachian State University from 2011 to 2012. After that, they worked as an Associate Accountant at Butler & Burke, LLP from 2012 to 2013. James then joined PwC as an Assurance Associate from 2014 to 2016.

In 2016, they transitioned to EY and held various roles within the Financial Accounting Advisory Services department. James started as a Senior in 2016 and was promoted to Manager in 2017, where they worked until 2020. From 2020 to 2023, James served as a Senior Manager in the same department.

Currently, James is working at Collegium Pharmaceutical, Inc. as the Senior Director, Controller since April 2023.

James Engel has a strong background in accounting and finance. James earned a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration (BSBA) degree with a focus on Accounting, Finance, Banking, and Insurance from Appalachian State University. James then pursued a Master of Science in Accounting degree as well as a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree from the same institution. James has not obtained any additional certifications at this time.
