Ashish Sharma

Ashish Sharma has extensive work experience in the field of compliance and risk management. Ashish currently holds the position of Director, Financial Crime Compliance at Colonial First State since 2021. Prior to this, they worked as the Compliance & Risk Director, ANZ and Board Director, Australia at Travelex from 2020 to 2021. From 2016 to 2020, they served as the Head of Compliance & Risk, ANZ & South Asia at the same company. Earlier in their career, Ashish held roles such as Compliance Manager, ANZ and Compliance Manager, Assurance & Projects - APAC at Travelex, where they were actively involved in driving compliance projects and ensuring regulatory adherence. Before joining Travelex, they gained experience in fraud control and external audit at Westpac.

Ashish Sharma completed their Bachelor's degree in Commerce at Delhi University from 2000 to 2003. Ashish then pursued a Post Graduate Diploma in International Trade Laws at the Indian Law Institute in Bhagwandas Road, New Delhi from 2003 to 2005. After that, they attended Macquarie University from 2005 to 2007, where they obtained a Master's degree in Professional Accounting. In 2007-2008, they participated in the CPA Australia Program, focusing on Risk & Audit. Finally, in 2017-2018, Ashish completed the Accelerate Senior Leadership Development Programme at The City and Guilds of London Institute.
