Cathy Alderman has a diverse work experience in various organizations. Cathy started their career in 2003 as a Senior Program Manager and Assistant Section Chief at ODJFS. From 2005 to 2008, they worked as a Senior Analyst in Legislative Affairs at AORN. In 2008, they joined Planned Parenthood of the Rocky Mountains/Planned Parenthood Votes Colorado as the Vice President of Public Affairs, where they stayed until 2015. Currently, they hold the position of Chief Communications and Public Policy Officer at the Colorado Coalition for the Homeless, which they have been doing since 2016. In this role, they are responsible for developing and implementing strategies to influence stakeholders, leading strategic planning and implementation of public policy and advocacy goals, and contributing to the management of the organization.

Cathy Alderman pursued their education chronologically as follows. From 1999 to 2002, they studied at the Tulane School of Public Health and Tropical Medicine, earning a Master of Science in Public Health (MSPH) with a specialization in Environmental Management. Simultaneously, they also attended Tulane University Law School, where they obtained a Juris Doctor (JD) degree with a specialty in Environmental Law, completing their studies in 2002. Additionally, they obtained the Ohio State Bar admission in October 2003, although it remains inactive. Furthermore, they were admitted to the Colorado Bar in 2009, but their status is listed as inactive.
