Matthew McAllister

Matthew McAllister has extensive experience working in various roles related to technology and public service. Matthew co-founded the Colorado Digital Service in 2019, where they served as the Director and was responsible for recruiting top technologists, developing state technology practices, and launching digital products and services for the public. In this role, they managed a budget of $3.7 million with an average 35% margin. Prior to this, they were the Founding Deputy Director of the Colorado Digital Service.

Before joining the Colorado Digital Service, Matthew worked for the City and County of Denver as a Smart City Project Manager. In this role, they led a $12 million federal grant for connected vehicle technology and oversaw various projects focused on improving transportation efficiency, traffic operations, and pedestrian safety. Matthew also chaired the open-source user community for connected vehicle deployer communities.

Matthew also has experience working in advisory roles. Matthew served as an Advisor for Shift7 in 2017 and worked as a Special Assistant and Policy Advisor to the U.S. Chief Technology Officer at The White House from 2014 to 2017. Before that, they worked as a Special Assistant in the Office of Innovation at the Peace Corps, where they focused on adopting and scaling open-source tools and developing partnerships with private companies for the benefit of Peace Corps volunteers.

Matthew's early experiences include working in the Technology and Operations Staff Assistant role at the Presidential Personnel Office at The White House from 2012 to 2014. Matthew also interned at the Presidential Personnel Office in 2011.
