Jason Johnson

Jason Johnson was appointed General Counsel for the CSU System effective Jan. 1, 2017, after serving as the Deputy General Counsel where he had oversight of the provision of legal services to Colorado State University and helped manage and protect the legal interests of the CSU System. Jason earned his undergraduate degree in business administration from Pepperdine University in 1995, and his Juris Doctor from the University of Denver in 1999. Before joining CSU’s Office of the General Counsel in 2008, Jason worked in Denver practicing commercial and intellectual property litigation, real estate law, and corporate law. Raised in Fort Collins and a graduate of Fort Collins High School, Jason lives in Fort Collins with his wife and two children.

All Office of the General Counsel staff report to Jason. He has overall responsibility and supervision for all legal matters pertaining to the Board of Governors, the System, and the institutions it governs including Colorado State University, CSU Pueblo and CSU Global.
