Michael Seman serves as the Director of Arts Management and Assistant Professor at Colorado State University since August 2019. Michael has also been an Expert Speaker for Creative Class Group since April 2014, emphasizing the role of independent cultural production in enhancing urban creative economies. Prior to their current roles, Seman directed Creative Industries Research and Policy at CU Denver College of Arts & Media and taught applied economics and geography at the University of North Texas. Additionally, as a Senior Research Associate, Michael focused on economic development and political economy research. Seman has contributed articles to The Atlantic's CityLab and Portland State University's Artisan Economy Initiative, analyzing the intersections of urban economics and cultural production. Michael holds a Ph.D. in Urban Planning and Public Policy from The University of Texas at Arlington, a Master of Science in Applied Geography/Economics from the University of North Texas, and a Bachelor of Science in Secondary Education from Penn State University.
