Darren Taylor-Ridge has extensive work experience in various industries, starting from their time as an Apprentice Bricklayer at Henry Boot PLC in 1982. Darren then served in the British Army for over 20 years, rising through the ranks and gaining distinctions in various service courses. After leaving the army, they worked as a Management Training Consultant at Consulting Principles Limited.
In 1995, Darren joined WWRD United Kingdom Ltd as a Production Manager, responsible for managing a shift team and overseeing high-volume automated manufacturing processes. Darren later took on the role of Senior Manufacturing Manager, where they were responsible for planning and budgeting for manufacturing operations.
Darren joined Fosroc in 2011 as a Production Manager, overseeing various manufacturing activities. Darren then moved on to become an Operations and HSE Manager, where they managed health and safety operations and project-managed a manufacturing footprint reduction project. Darren eventually became the Operations Manager for Manufacturing, Distribution, and HSE for the UK, Ireland, and Denmark.
In 2015, Darren joined Colson Group USA as the European Operations Director and HSE, where they worked on improving all elements of the operations in West Bromwich. Darren later became the Director of Operations Excellence and HSEQ, specializing in LEAN manufacturing improvements, health safety, and environmental development.
Currently, Darren holds the position of Vice President of Global Quality and Safety at Colson Group, where they lead efforts to ensure product quality and customer satisfaction. Darren also works closely with the Senior Leadership Team.

Darren Taylor-Ridge has a diverse education history spanning various fields of study. In 1983, they attended the School of Infantry, where they studied Infantry Heavy Weapons, Small Arms, Tactics Instruction, and Warfare and Strategies. From 1997 to 1999, they pursued a Higher National Diploma (HND) in Learning and Development Practitioner from City and Guilds. In 1998, they also attained a HND in Operations Management from City and Guilds.
Moving forward, in 1999, Darren pursued a BA (Hons) Degree in Business Management from The Manchester Metropolitan University. Later, in 2001, they obtained a Level 2 HSE in Ceramics from CERISHEC, specializing in Health and Safety Management in the Ceramics Industry. Additionally, in 2006, they attended Keele University and studied Kiln Firing and Technology.
Darren's interest in health and safety continued with multiple certifications. In 2009, they obtained a Level 3 Health and Safety Certificate from NEBOSH. Darren also holds a NEBOSH Diploma in Health and Safety, which they completed from Phoenix Health and Safety in 2011-2012. Further, in 2013, they received a Level 3 Environmental Study certification from Aston University.
In 2014, Darren obtained a Construction Health and Safety Certificate from Phoenix Health and Safety, specializing in the NEBOSH Construction Certificate. The same year they earned an MSc in Occupational Safety and Health Technology/Technician from the University of Birmingham.
Darren continued to enhance their expertise in health and safety by acquiring additional certifications. Darren completed Managing Safely from IOSH and a NEBOSH Fire Safety Certificate. In 2016, they accomplished a Management of Health and Well-Being certification from NEBOSH. That year they also pursued a Level 5 Certificate in HR Management from Avado, specializing in Human Resources Management/Personnel Administration.
Alongside their education, Darren holds a Nebosh Health and Safety certification which is not dated in terms of completion.
