Vish Bhotla

Director of Technology at Columbia Books & Information Services

Vish Bhotla has over 20 years of work experience in various roles. Vish started their career in 1997 as a Production Manager at Apex Covantage, where they managed a production team of over 200 staff and three vendors with 60 staff each. Vish also served as a Team Leader, managing a team of 100 staff in shift operation. In 2004, they joined GE Money as a Collections Manager (NZ Consumer Loans) where they managed consumer loans receivables of $400 million and managed and process reengineered collection practices. Vish also served as a Team Leader, managing a team of 15 credit controllers and reporting their performance to the collection leader. In 2008, Vish joined Rosetta Stone as a Sr. IT Manager (Release Management & NOC) where they were accountable for the overall quality of the Release Management process. Vish also served as a Sr. Operations Manager (Web Delivery) where they maintained relationships at multiple levels with ODC partner(s) and co-ordinated efforts with help from Information Services, Web, and Product. In 2015, Vish joined Columbia Books & Information Services as Director of Technology where they were responsible for operational success of all Columbia Books & Information Services websites (including java, Wordpress, PHP, Drupal, and . NET platforms) and other internal applications. Vish also improved the Web Development process (so as to use an effective SDLC model) to create more visibility in to the process for the business users.

Vish Bhotla completed a Bachelor of Engineering in Electronics & Communication from SDM College of Engineering & Technology between 1993 and 1997. Vish then went on to obtain a PG Diploma in Operations Management from The University of Auckland between 2003 and 2006. Additionally, they attended Sandur Residential School. Vish also holds certifications in Accounting I: Fundamentals, Finance: Time Value of Money, Microeconomics 1: Supply and Demand, and One-Variable Statistics from Smartly by Pedago.
