Layla Hussein

Layla Hussein is an active student at Columbia University, pursuing a degree in Urban Studies and Education from 2022 to 2026, while simultaneously engaging in various professional roles. Currently, Layla serves as a Social Media Intern at New York Amsterdam News and as a Communications Assistant at Columbia College. Additionally, Layla is a Creative Intern with Warner Bros. Television Group and has held multiple positions within Columbia University, including Media Assistant at the Center for Ethnicity & Race Studies and Communications Coordinator for the New Student Orientation Program. Layla's experience also includes roles with GLAAD as a News and Rapid Response Intern, Columbia Daily Spectator as a Staff Writer, and leadership positions within the Columbia University Black Pre-Professional Society. Educational experiences include participation in programs at Yale University and Princeton University, as well as training with Girls Who Code.
