Caroline A. Arout

Caroline A. Arout, Ph.D., currently serves as an Assistant Professor of Clinical Neurobiology in Psychiatry at Columbia University Irving Medical Center and as a Research Scientist at the New York State Psychiatric Institute, focusing on medication development for drug use disorders and the use of cannabinoids for PTSD. Caroline holds an adjunct faculty position at City University of New York-College of Staten Island, where instruction includes a variety of psychology courses, and has also taught at Southern New Hampshire University and Wagner College. Previous experience includes a postdoctoral fellowship at Yale University School of Medicine, examining pain in substance use disorders, and research roles at The Institute for Basic Research. Caroline's educational background includes a Ph.D. in Neuropsychology from The Graduate Center, CUNY, alongside other advanced degrees in psychology.
