Shirly Benatar has extensive experience in educational leadership within Jewish institutions. Currently serving as the Chair of the Hebrew Language Department at Columbus Torah Academy since July 2016, Shirly is responsible for supervising and leading Hebrew education across elementary and high schools while being a member of the institution's top leadership team. Previously, Shirly held various roles at Congregation Tifereth Israel from August 2003 to June 2016, including Director of Education for the Samuel L. Melton Religious School, overseeing 230 students, and Assistant Education Director. Additional experience includes teaching at the Florence Melton Adult Mini School from 2000 to 2008 and leading early childhood Judaic education at the Jewish Community Center of Greater Columbus from 1998 to 2002. Educational qualifications include a Master of Science in Educational Leadership from the University of Dayton and dual Master of Science and Bachelor of Science degrees from The Ohio State University, along with studies at The Hebrew University of Jerusalem.
