George Cheng

George Cheng currently serves as the GM of Vertical Solutions at Column, focusing on developing tailored banking products for specific industries. Cheng also invests in Asian-American founders as a Limited Partner at Hyphen Capital. Previous experience includes roles in technology growth equity at Summit Partners, research in pancreatic cancer detection at the Thayer School of Engineering, and various positions in private equity and investment banking at firms such as Cinven and Citi. Cheng's entrepreneurial spirit led to co-owning The Gratefull Bed Company, and early career contributions included business development for JW Therapeutics and management consulting at PwC. Cheng holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering Sciences and Economics from Dartmouth College, graduating Summa Cum Laude and as a member of Phi Beta Kappa.
