Andy Olek

Andy Olek has extensive work experience in the legal field. Andy is currently the Chief Legal Officer at CommentSold, where they founded the Legal team and advises the CEO and Board on legal compliance and corporate governance. Prior to that, they served as the General Counsel at The Knot Worldwide, where they provided strategic advice to the C-suite and Board and led all legal functions. Andy also served as a Board Member for The Knot Asia Pacific and Wedding Planner, S.L.U. Before that, Andy was the General Counsel at WeddingWire, where they created the legal team from scratch and played a key role in significant deals. Andy also worked as a Senior Director, Senior Counsel at Merkle, Director, Senior Counsel at Blackboard Inc., and Associate at Fried, Frank, Harris, Shriver & Jacobson LLP. Andy has a strong background in contract drafting and negotiation, corporate governance, mergers and acquisitions, intellectual property, employment law, and litigation. Prior to their legal career, they served as an Instructor/Military Officer at the U.S. Naval Academy and as a Division Officer on the USS Thomas S. Gates (CG-51).

Andy Olek has a J.D. degree in Law from Georgetown University Law Center. Andy also holds a B.S. degree in Political Science from the United States Naval Academy and an M.A. degree in Government and Politics from the University of Maryland. Furthermore, they have an M.S. degree in Information Technology from the University of Maryland Global Campus. Andy also completed the Science & Technology Magnet Program at Eleanor Roosevelt High School. Additionally, they have obtained certifications including the Reporting with the GRI Standards Course from the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) and the FSA Credential from the IFRS Foundation.
