Phong Thieu

About

Phong Thieu is the current Director of Engineering at Commit. Prior to this, they worked as a Software Development Manager at Adeptmind from July 2017 to March 2020. There, they reported directly to the CTO and was responsible for leading a team of up to 11 full-time multidisciplinary delivery members, including Frontend Engineers, Backend Engineers, Team Leads, QA, and Machine Learning Engineers. Phong was also responsible for direction, roadmap planning, best practices, engineering culture, general management, and technical systems design and architecture. Additionally, they worked with business intelligence tools, analytics initiatives, and external 3rd parties.

Phong Thieu has a Bachelor of Applied Science in Engineering from the University of Waterloo and Certification from Y Combinator in Startup School (2019).

Phong Thieu reports to Beier Cai, Co-Founder, CTO. Phong Thieu works with Tim Wan - Software Engineer, David Cheung - Software Engineer, and Julie Huang - Software Engineer.
