Common Heart is a grassroots movement in Union County, NC that started in 2006 when 2 neighbors and best friends began delifery groceries, friendship and hope.  It has grown to become 12 food pantry outreaches serving 14,000 individuals annually.  Additionally, Getting Ahead and our economic empowerment programs assist families to build resources to end hunger and poverty in their lives.

Our mission is to foster individual and community engagement to feed hungry families and empower those in poverty, creating a sustainable community where all can thrive. What started as four friends creating a small revolution of kindness has now grown to more than 3,000 friends serving our neighbors each month! 

Over the years, the core of who we are has remained the same: We seek to create a small revolution of kindness delivering groceries and hope, expanding resources and horizons, and developing empowering and life-changing friendships. The goal: eradicating food insecurity and eliminating generational poverty.
