David Janner-Klausner (he/him) has worked in various roles since 1988. David started their career as a Senior Area Head, Municipal Development at JDC in 1988. In 1997, they became the Director of Transport Today and Tomorrow. David then moved to Dalia and Nathaniel Lichfield Planning in 2000, where they worked as a Project Manager. In 2001, they were the Head of Good Practice Unit at Transport 2000 (now the Campaign for Better Transport). David then worked as the Director of Centre for Local Sustainability at the Local Government Information Unit from 2003-2007. Following that, they were the Programme & Planning Director at UJIA from 2007-2012. In 2012, they became the Chair of start-up social enterprise The Bike Project, where they provided reconditioned bicycles to refugees and asylum seekers in London. Finally, in 2013, they became Co-Founder and Director of Impact, Co-founder and Director of Customer Success, and Co-founder and Director of Business Development at Commonplace, a start-up developing a digital tool for neighbourhoods, property developers and local authorities.
David Janner-Klausner began their education in 1969 at the Hebrew University Secondary School. David then attended the University of Sussex, graduating with a BA in Urban Studies in 1982. Following this, they completed their PhD in Geography at The London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE) in 1985. In 2006, they earned an MSc in Architecture - Advanced Environment and Energy Studies from the Centre for Alternative Technology.
