Lavera Crawley

LaVera Crawley, MD, MPH, OFS, currently serves as the System Vice President of Pastoral and Spiritual Care at CommonSpirit Health since October 2022. With extensive experience in spiritual care and clinical pastoral education, LaVera has held titles such as Director of Spiritual Care at Sutter Health California Pacific Medical Center and Program Manager of Palliative Care Education and Research at Alta Bates Summit Medical Center. Additionally, LaVera has been actively involved with the Center for Action and Contemplation, serving on the Board of Directors, including a three-year term as Chair. Academic credentials include a Medical Doctor degree from Meharry Medical College, a Master of Public Health from the University of California, Berkeley, and a Fellowship in Biomedical Ethics from Stanford University. LaVera's research interests focus on the spiritual care needs of patients with life-threatening illnesses, alongside a commitment to addressing health disparities.
