Shannon (O'Brien) Breymaier has a diverse work experience, beginning as a Communications Intern for Claire McCaskill for Governor in 2004. Shannon then worked as Deputy Communications Director for Congressman Russ Carnahan (MO-03) in the U.S. House of Representatives from 2006 to 2008. Following that, they served as Communications Director for Congresswoman Betty Sutton (OH-13) in the same position in the House of Representatives. Shannon shifted their focus to the American Medical Association in 2011, working as a Public Information Officer until 2013. Shannon then joined the Office of Chicago Mayor Rahm Emanuel, first serving as Deputy Director of Communications from 2013 to 2018, and then as Director of Communications from 2018 to 2019. Afterward, they took on the role of Director of Communications for Exelon Utilities at Exelon from 2019 to 2020. Currently, Shannon holds the position of Vice President of Communications and Marketing at ComEd, starting in 2023.
Shannon (O'Brien) Breymaier earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science and Sociology from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign in 2005. Shannon later pursued a Masters degree in Political Management with a concentration in Political Communication from The George Washington University, completing their studies in 2008.
