Commonwealth Fusion Systems
Charlie Sanabria currently serves as a Magnet Engineer at Commonwealth Fusion Systems since June 2019. Prior to this role, Sanabria was a Postdoctoral Researcher at Berkeley Lab, where responsibilities included leading the development of a cryogenic resistivity measurement system for the Accelerator Upgrade Program aimed at enhancing LHC magnets. Sanabria obtained a PhD in Materials Engineering from Florida State University, contributing to advancements in wire technology and critical current density for the Large Hadron Collider during a role as a PhD Candidate at The Applied Superconductivity Center. Earlier experiences include serving as a Graduate Research Assistant on ITER conductor prototypes and managing undergraduate recruits as an Undergraduate Research Assistant. Additional contributions were made during an internship at Oxford Superconducting Technology, where Sanabria's metallographic analyses improved wire production processes. Teaching assistant roles were also held at Florida State University.
