Lorenzo Bortot

Lorenzo Bortot is a Magnet Engineer at ESRF - The European Synchrotron since May 2024, previously serving as the Head of Magnets Group and Magnet Engineer at Renaissance Fusion from October 2021 to April 2024. Prior experience includes a PhD position at Technische Universität Darmstadt from May 2018 to October 2021, focusing on high-temperature superconductors for future circular colliders in collaboration with CERN. As a Research Fellow at CERN from March 2015 to February 2018, Lorenzo contributed to the Machine Protection and Electrical Integrity group supporting LHC operations. Earlier roles include a Junior Automation Engineer at SMS group Inc. and an internship at Elettromedia, where Lorenzo worked on automation software development and optimization algorithms, respectively. Lorenzo holds a Master's degree in Electrical Engineering and a Professional Engineering Qualification from Università degli Studi di Padova.
