Rob Firth has a diverse work experience spanning over several companies and roles. Rob began their career at Methanex, where they held various engineering positions, eventually becoming a Senior Engineering Manager. Following this, they transitioned to A.T. Kearney, where they progressed from an Associate to a Senior Manager. At Barclays Capital, Rob worked as an Associate Director before joining Challenger Limited. At Challenger Limited, they held multiple roles, including Head of Operational Risk and AML/CTF Officer, Head of Operational & Financial Crime Risk, and Senior Manager of Operational Risk. Currently, Rob is the Chief Risk Officer at Commonwealth Superannuation Corporation.

Rob Firth has a diverse education history. In 1985-1988, they attended the University of Canterbury, earning a B.Eng (Hons) degree in Chemical & Process Engineering. In 1995-1996, they pursued further education at the Melboune Business School / Darden Business School, completing an MBA with a focus on Finance and Organizational Behavior. In 2005, they obtained the Professional Risk Manager (PRM) certification from the Professional Risk Managers' International Association (PRMIA), specializing in Enterprise Risk Management. The same year, they also earned the Certified Risk Professional (CRP) and Certified Compliance Professional (CCP) designations from the GRC Institute. In 2017-2018, they obtained a Diploma in Superannuation from ASFA. Recently, in 2022-2023, they attended the Investments & Wealth Institute, obtaining the Certified Investment Management Analyst (CIMA) certification with a focus on Investment Portfolio Construction.
