Overview: As a CAD Engineer, you will play a critical role in the design and development process by creating detailed technical drawings and models using Computer-Aided Design (CAD) software. Your expertise will be essential in translating conceptual designs into precise, manufacturable specifications. This position requires a strong understanding of engineering principles, proficiency in CAD software, and the ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams.

Responsibilities:

CAD Design and Modeling:

  • Create detailed 2D and 3D models of mechanical, electrical, or architectural components and assemblies using CAD software.
  • Interpret and incorporate design specifications, sketches, and requirements into accurate technical drawings.
  • Develop and maintain CAD libraries of standard components and templates for reuse in future projects.

Technical Documentation:

  • Generate engineering drawings, schematics, and diagrams to communicate design intent and specifications to stakeholders.
  • Ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance with industry standards and regulations in all technical documentation.
  • Collaborate with engineers and designers to review and revise drawings based on feedback and design changes.

Product Development Support:

  • Assist in the design and development of new products or components by providing CAD support throughout the product lifecycle.
  • Participate in design reviews and contribute to design optimization and improvement efforts.
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams, including engineers, designers, and manufacturing specialists, to achieve project goals.

Quality Control and Testing:

  • Perform quality checks on CAD models and drawings to verify accuracy, completeness, and adherence to design standards.
  • Conduct tolerance analysis and simulate assembly processes to identify potential issues and ensure manufacturability.
  • Collaborate with quality assurance teams to address any discrepancies or concerns related to CAD designs.

Training and Support:

  • Provide training and support to colleagues on CAD software usage, best practices, and techniques.
  • Mentor junior CAD technicians or engineers and assist in their professional development.
  • Stay updated on new CAD software features and industry trends to enhance skills and knowledge.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Architecture, or related field.
  • Proven experience as a CAD Engineer or similar role, preferably in a manufacturing or engineering environment.
  • Proficiency in CAD software such as AutoCAD, SolidWorks, CATIA, or Revit.
  • Strong understanding of engineering principles and technical drawing standards.
  • Ability to interpret and create complex technical drawings and models.
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in design work.
  • Effective communication and collaboration skills.
  • Familiarity with product development processes and manufacturing techniques.
  • Knowledge of Finite Element Analysis (FEA) and Design for Manufacturability (DFM) principles is a plus.

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: $27.00 - $35.00 per hour
