Tony Kearns

Tony has been in his current post since 2001, having formerly served the union in a wide variety of national, district, and branch roles going right back to when he first joined the Post Office in Liverpool in 1978.

Tony deputizes for the General Secretary when required and assists the General Secretary in financial, administrative, and strategic organizational matters.

He is an active member of the Labour Party, a committed socialist, and a passionate environmentalist as well. He actively supports the Campaign Against Climate Change and backs several other causes including the fight for council housing, anti-fascism, and Venezuela solidarity.

Tony represents the CWU in several of these movements and as well as having ‘red’ politics, he is also a loyal and life-long supporter of the Reds of Liverpool Football Club.
