Steve Lawton

Steve Lawton is an experienced labor organizer and educator with a strong background in union leadership and curriculum development. As a Field Organizer for the Communications Workers of America since February 2023, Steve focuses on enhancing union structures and fostering leadership within New Jersey's CWA locals. In addition, Steve serves as a Project Consultant for The Labor Institute, working on curriculum that addresses complex social issues. Previous roles include Assistant to the President at CWA Local 1101, where organizing Call Center workers is a key responsibility, and a longstanding leadership position at CWA Local 1102. Steve also shares knowledge as an Adjunct Instructor at Empire State University and holds a Master's degree in Labor and Public Policy from the same institution, complemented by an Associate of Science in Telecommunications Technology from City Tech, CUNY.
