Eugene Police Department
Shawn Adams has a strong background in law enforcement, with their most recent position being Deputy Chief of Police at the Eugene Police Department since May 2022. Prior to this, they served as a Police Captain at the same department starting in November 2019. Adams also has extensive experience working for the City of Salem, where they held various roles such as Police Lieutenant from October 2008 to November 2019, Police Sergeant from July 2007 to October 2008, Police Corporal from May 2003 to July 2007, and Police Officer from July 1995 to May 2003.
Shawn Adams obtained their Public Leadership Credential through the Kennedy School of Government at Harvard University from 2021 to 2023. Prior to that, from 1991 to 1992, they attended the University of Providence where they earned a Bachelor's Degree in Criminal Justice/Law Enforcement Administration. Earlier in their educational journey, from 1987 to 1990, they completed an Associate's Degree in Business Administration and Management, General at Lethbridge College.
