Amy Gordon

Amy Gordon has a diverse work experience, spanning from 1999 to the present day. Amy'smost recent role was as the Executive Director / CEO of Communities In Schools of Ohio since January 2017. Prior to that, they held various positions at Communities In Schools of Central Ohio, including Associate Director and Manager of Programs, from 2013 to 2016.

From 2006 to 2013, Amy worked as an Afterschool Programs Independent Consultant at their own consulting firm, Amy's Consulting, where they conducted collaborative work locally and state-wide to provide resources, support, and grant writing guidance to afterschool and federal 21st Century Community Learning Center programs. Amy also researched and developed Step Up to Quality approved trainings presented state-wide and coordinated a statewide afterschool conference.

In 2011, Amy worked as a Field Assessor at Mathematica Policy Research, where they assessed school-age children related to language and literacy development in Title 1 schools nationwide.

Before that, from 2010 to 2011, they were a Research Associate at The Ohio State University, College of Education and Human Ecology. In this role, they worked with a team to conduct assessments of preschool-age children in the areas of literacy and kindergarten readiness, administered early childhood assessment tools, and conducted classroom observations.

Amy's earlier experience includes their role as the 21st Century Community Learning Center Project Director at Communities In Schools from 1999 to 2006. In this role, they developed, implemented, and managed six learning centers. Amy also created marketing materials, surveys, and trainings, and managed contract negotiations and program budgets exceeding $1 million.

Amy Gordon completed their high school education at Centennial High School from 1984 to 1988. Amy then went on to attend The Ohio State University from 1988 to 1992, where they earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology.
