Shams Hamid is an experienced professional in educational support and community engagement, currently serving as an Associate in Corporate Giving at Communities In Schools National Office since October 2023. Previously, Shams worked as a Site Coordinator at Communities In Schools of Richmond from January 2022 to August 2023, managing a caseload of over 80 elementary school students, delivering Social Emotional Learning education, and collaborating with a network of community partners to promote student well-being and attendance. Earlier experience includes serving as a Summer Academic Advisor at YWCA Capitol Area, where Shams engaged young women in STEAM activities and organized educational field trips. Shams holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology and African American Studies from Virginia Commonwealth University, earned between 2018 and 2021.
