The Community Action Board of Santa Cruz County operates six programs that assist low-income residents to move out of poverty by focusing on four service areas: Homelessness Prevention & Essential Services Employment & Reentry Services Immigration Legal Assistance & Citizenship Services Community Building & Youth Development Services In 2016, CAB programs assisted 10,509 low-income participants with emergency, sustaining or self-sufficiency services, as well as addressing an additional 6,595 requests for information and referral or brief services. Over 75% of CAB’s clients had a family income of less than 100% of the Federal Poverty Guidelines and 83% less than 150% of the Guidelines. The Community Action Board has over 40 employees.
