Human Resources Director at Community Bridges

Tyler Smith has been the Human Resources Director at Community Bridges since December 2017. Prior to that, they were the Human Resources Manager at Community Bridges from June 2014 to December 2017. In that role, they developed, managed, and improved systems for human resource management; supervised two full-time employees; and led the organization's transition to an HRIS system (ADP). Tyler also advised department heads and mid-level supervisors on organizational policies and procedures, including two separate union contracts.

In addition, Tyler directed the recruitment process at Community Bridges. Tyler worked with 10 department heads to craft job descriptions and compensation details, advised and executed on recruitment strategy, developed interview questions and assessment materials, screened, scheduled, and interviewed candidates, conducted reference checks, and facilitated the on-boarding process.

Tyler also managed employee benefit programs, supported staff with benefits-related questions, conducted benefit orientations, and enrolled employees. Tyler also administered, tracked, and recorded a wide variety of employee training programs, licensing requirements, and certifications, including for teachers, Department of Transportation regulated drivers, and other safety-sensitive employees. Finally, they collected, organized, and reported data to EEOC, Department of Transportation, insurance carriers, and others.

Tyler Smith has a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and Government from California Polytechnic State University-San Luis Obispo. Tyler also has certification from SHRM in SHRM-SCP.

They are on a team with Jayme Ackemann - Marketing & Social Media Manager, Mayra Melendrez - Program Director, Family Resource Collective, and Seth McGibben - Chief Administrative Officer. Their manager is Raymon Ray Cancino, CEO.
