Shelley Wax has a diverse and extensive work experience. Starting in 2001, they worked as a Family Court Mediator at the Los Angeles Superior Court for one year. From 2001 to 2004, they served as a Career Counseling Supervisor and Program Grant Manager at the Housing Authority of the City of Los Angeles, where they managed a $3 million per year grant-funded childcare provider education and family literacy program.

In 2006, Shelley joined Wells Fargo as a Consultant, where they implemented and managed the Hire LA Youth Summer Youth Internship Program, benefiting young leaders from low to middle-income communities.
