Louise McCarthy has held various roles in different organizations throughout their career. Louise began as a Communications Coordinator at the Minnesota Chamber of Commerce in 2000, then worked as a Policy Associate at the Los Angeles Area Chamber of Commerce in 2004. In 2005, they became an Assistant Director of Policy at the California Primary Care Association. Louise then joined the Community Clinic Association of LA County in 2007, serving as the Vice President of Governmental Affairs until 2011, when they became the President & CEO. During their time at the Community Clinic Association of LA County, they also served as a Board Member for the California Primary Care Association from 2010. Additionally, they were the Board Chair at L.A. Care Health Plan from 2010 to 2016.
Louise McCarthy attended the College of Saint Benedict from 1992 to 1996, and then went on to UCLA from 2002 to 2004, where they earned a Master's degree in Public Policy (MPP).
