Emily Blackshear, Ph.D., currently serves as Major Gift Officer at the Food Bank of Eastern Oklahoma since February 2023. In addition, Emily editorially leads as Food & Philosophy Editor and Creative Director at The New Territory Magazine since January 2019. Previous academic roles include Visiting Assistant Professor at Oklahoma State University from September 2017 to December 2021 and Editor at the Oklahoma Oral History Research Program from October 2016 to August 2017. Emily also has experience as a Technical Writing Teaching Associate at Oklahoma State University from January 2010 to July 2013. Academically, Emily holds a Doctor of Philosophy in English/Professional Writing and Rhetoric, a Master of Fine Arts in Creative Nonfiction from Bennington College, a Master of Arts in Teaching English as a Second or Foreign Language from Oklahoma State University, and a Bachelor of Arts in Cognitive Psychology from the University of Arkansas.
