Bunmi Parks

Bunmi Parks has a diverse work experience in various human resources roles. Bunmi is currently the Vice President of Talent & Culture at the Community Foundation for Southeast Michigan, where they oversee organization-wide human resource functions and supports the DEI mission. Prior to this, they served as the Human Resources Director at the same organization.

Before joining the Community Foundation, Bunmi worked as the Director of HR & Operations at the Detroit Justice Center. Bunmi provided HR support and managed operations for the organization.

Bunmi also has experience as a Human Resources Consultant/Owner at AmplifyHigheR HR Consulting Firm. Bunmi worked with various clients in providing HR consulting services.

In addition, Bunmi has held HR positions at Element Solutions Inc, the City of Grand Rapids, and Cascade Engineering. Bunmi has experience in areas such as employee relations, recruitment, training, performance management, and organizational development.

Bunmi started their career as a Community Service Learning Center Coordinator at Grand Valley State University and later worked as a Human Resources Benefits Office Assistant at the same university. Bunmi also interned as a Grants Administration Intern at Cascade Engineering.

Bunmi Parks has a strong educational background in the field of public administration and nonprofit management. In 2004, they obtained a Bachelor of Science degree with an emphasis in Human Resources from Grand Valley State University, where they studied Public & Nonprofit Administration. After completing their undergraduate degree, Bunmi went on to pursue a Master of Public Administration (MPA) from the same university. Bunmi'sMPA program stretched from 2009 to 2013 and included specific coursework in Nonprofit Management and Leadership, including Human Resources Management courses.

In addition to their formal education, Bunmi has obtained several certifications to further enhance their professional qualifications. In 2014, they achieved the Professional in Human Resources® (PHR®) certification from the HR Certification Institute. This certification demonstrates their expertise in various HR topics. In 2015, Bunmi obtained the SHRM-CP certification from the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM), further solidifying their HR knowledge and skills.

Lastly, Bunmi pursued the Certified Nonprofit Professional (CNP) certification from the Nonprofit Leadership Alliance. Although the obtained month and year are not provided for this certification, it showcases their commitment to the nonprofit sector and their desire to excel in their chosen field.
