Matthew Riddell has a strong background in contract management and procurement. Matthew has worked as a Contract Manager at The National Lottery Community Fund since 2015, where they are responsible for procuring and managing large scale contracts. Matthew has a strong knowledge of OJEU and Public sector procurement regulations. Prior to this, Riddell worked as a Funding Officer at Big Lottery Fund from 2006 to 2015, where they managed a portfolio of grants and provided advice and support to clients. Before that, they worked at SERCO as a Traffic Monitoring Officer and Operational Trainer from 2004 to 2006, where they actively managed road traffic incidents and worked with various stakeholders to improve traffic management. Riddell also has experience as a Traffic Monitoring Officer at Glasgow City Council from 2000 to 2003, where they managed traffic incidents and worked on improving traffic efficiency in Glasgow.
Matthew Riddell obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Environmental Management from The Manchester Metropolitan University, from 1997 to 2000. In addition to their degree, they have received several certifications, including the Contract Management Foundation from the Government Commercial Function in September 2021, the Prince2 Foundation Certificate in Project Management from AXELOS Global Best Practice in June 2019, and various management and leadership certifications from The Open University and the University of Southampton between 2016 and 2019.
