Lawton L. Samuels, Jr., SCP has a diverse work experience in the field of human resources and business development. From 2019 to present, they have served as the Vice President of Human Resources at CHAP - Community Health Accreditation Partner. Prior to that, they worked as the Human Resources Director at the same company from 2018 to 2019.

Before joining CHAP, Lawton worked as an Independent Consultant from 2017 to 2018, where they served as an HR and Business Development Consultant.

From 1998 to 2017, Lawton worked at the Newseum, a museum dedicated to the news industry. Their roles at the Newseum included Senior Human Resources Manager, Senior Manager, Operations Manager, and Operations Coordinator.

Lawton L. Samuels, Jr., SCP has a strong educational background in business administration and management and accounting. From 2002 to 2005, they attended American University, where they focused on business administration and management. Prior to that, from 1996 to 2001, they attended George Mason University and studied accounting. In addition to their formal education, Lawton has obtained several certifications, including the SHRM Senior Certified Professional (SHRM-SCP) from SHRM in July 2015. Lawton L. Samuels also holds a Human Resources Management Certificate from George Mason University Executive & Professional Education, which they obtained in June 2015. Lawton has also completed training courses such as Disney's Approach to Quality Service and Disney's Approach to Leadership Excellence through the Disney Institute, as well as a course on Service Excellence Culture & Memorable Customer Service from The Ritz-Carlton Leadership Center.
