María Fernández

María Fernández has a diverse work experience in the medical field. María is currently the Medical Director and a Family Medicine Physician at Community Health Alliance Nevada. María previously served as an Interim Medical Director at the same organization. Prior to that, they were a Family Medicine Resident at the University of Nevada, Reno. María also gained experience as a Medical Student at the University of Arizona, College of Medicine. In addition, they worked as a Program Manager at UC Berkeley School of Public Health and as a Leadership, Advocacy, and HCOP Coordinator and Graduate Student Assistant at the Center for Public Health Practice. María has also held positions as a Preventive Medicine Quality Improvement Graduate Intern at La Clinica de La Raza and as a Research Assistant and Dance Instructor at Stanford Prevention Research Center. María was also a Resident Advisor at Stanford University.

María Fernández completed their undergraduate studies at Stanford University from 2006 to 2010, where they earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Human Biology and Dance. From 2010 to 2012, they pursued a Masters degree in Public Health at the University of California, Berkeley. Following that, from 2014 to 2018, María attended the University of Arizona College of Medicine – Tucson, where they obtained a Doctor of Medicine (M.D.) degree. Currently, they are enrolled in the Family Medicine Residency Program at the University of Nevada, Reno.
