Anita Cardwell

Anita Cardwell currently serves as the Director of Institutional Giving at Community of Hope since February 2024. Prior to this role, Cardwell was a Senior Policy Associate at the National Academy for State Health Policy from March 2013 to February 2024, where responsibilities included policy tracking, analysis related to health programs, and research writing. Cardwell also held various positions at the National Association of Counties from March 2009 to March 2013, including Program Manager and Senior Associate, focusing on supporting county officials with health policy issues and authoring best practice publications. Earlier experiences include an internship with the Children's Defense Fund and a research assistant role at the National Academy of Social Insurance. Cardwell's education includes a Graduate Certificate in Nonprofit Management and Leadership from the University of Maryland and a Master of Public Policy from The Johns Hopkins University.
