Petrina L. Williams

Petrina L. Williams is the Director at The Community Partnership. Petrina has been in this position since August 2017. Prior to that, they were an Addictions Counselor at Christ House from April 2015 to August 2017.

In their role as Director at The Community Partnership, Petrina oversees all addictions services, which includes leading comprehensive drug and alcohol assessments, education and relapse prevention. Petrina manages the New Day drug and alcohol recovery program, and overhauled curriculum and structure for this 12-week initiative.

Petrina has been integral in reducing relapses to only 1 in 2017 to date, an improvement from 2-3 annually in 2014, 2013, and 2012. Petrina started a peer-support smoking cessation group, and provides oversight and guidance to participants who lead the group. The program follows the 12-step model of recovery, with primary focus on the initial 3 steps.

Petrina has also instituted a Relapse Prevention Program, co-leads weekly and monthly group house meetings, and holds individual weekly counseling sessions with Kairos Program members.

Petrina L. Williams has a Masters Degree in Social Work from The Catholic University of America, a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from University of Maryland Global Campus, and has studied Biology at Spelman College. Petrina also has certification from The Viva Center as a Trauma Informed Clinical Practioner, the Department of Behavioral Health as a Co-Occurring Disorders Core Competency Certificate holder and Treatment Planning for Person Centered Care: Emerging Best Practice, Instructor Training Certificate holder, University of Maryland University College as a Clinical Mental Health Care Certificate holder, DC Department of Health as a Certified Addictions Counselor II, and Maryland Department of Health as a Licensed Certified Social Worker - Clinical. Finally, they are also certified by the DC Department of Health as a Licensed Clincial Social Worker.
