Derek Langton

Derek Langton is an accomplished professional with extensive experience in both technology and public safety sectors. As Co-Founder and General Partner at Acquired Wisdom Fund since September 2021, Derek focuses on aiding seasoned professionals in developing scalable technology products. Derek serves on the Public Safety Advisory Board for the City of Mountain View, contributing to public safety recommendations, and volunteers at the Community Services Agency in food distribution. As an Angel Investor since 2013 and former Director of FFL Startup Accelerator, Derek has a strong background in supporting early-stage companies. Derek's past roles include Mobile App Consultant at Moot Dog Dev, where expertise in Objective C and C++ was applied, and iOS Developer for Smoopa, which gained recognition from major publications. Prior to entering the tech industry, Derek served as a State Trooper with the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, earning two Medals of Life Saving and a Troop Commanders Commendation. Derek's educational background includes training from the Massachusetts State Police Academy, multiple courses at UMass Boston, and an Associate's degree from Quincy College.
