Adriana Guzmán

Co-Director, Teaching Artist Project at Community-Word Project

Adriana Guzmán is the co-director of the Teaching Artist Project at Community-Word Project. Adriana has over a decade of experience working in the arts and education field. Adriana started their career as an Arts Coordinator at SCO Family of Services, where they coordinated arts programming for youth in foster care and group homes. Adriana then became a Creative Facilitator at Creative Action Institute, where they facilitated workshops on creative expression for youth and adults. In 2007, they became the Community Arts Liaison at Creative Action Institute, where they worked to build relationships between local artists and the community. In 2008, they joined the DREAM Project as a Teaching Artist and Community Engagement Specialist, where they taught art classes and worked with community members to engage them in the arts. In 2009, they joined the Peace Corps, where they worked in small business development in the artisan sector. In 2013, they joined Move This World as a Peace Mover and Latin America Programs Coordinator, where they facilitated workshops on conflict resolution and peacebuilding. In 2017, they joined Global Leadership Adventures as Director of Group Travel Sessions and International Director. Adriana has also worked as a freelance writer, editor, and translator.

Adriana Guzmán has a Master’s Degree in Service, Leadership and Intercultural Management from SIT Graduate Institute. Adriana also has a Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA) in Design and Visual Communications from Pratt Institute. In addition, they have a certification in 200-hour Wellness, SEL, and Yoga Teacher Certification from Breathe For Change as well as a certification in Human Subjects Research – Social-Behavioral-Educational Refresher 1 from CITI Program, A Division of BRANY.

Their manager is Michele Kotler, Founder + Executive Director. They are on a team with Leigh Wells - Deputy Director, Programs And Operations, Craig Hayes - Deputy Director For External Affairs & CXO, and Bethany Parker - Managing Director, Development.
