Francesco Calabrese, PhD, currently serves as the Group Head of Data Science and Analytics at Richemont since July 2021, leading a team focused on optimizing decision-making across the luxury goods value chain. Prior to this role, Francesco accumulated significant experience at Vodafone as the Lead Big Data & Analytics Scientist from July 2016 to June 2021, overseeing a team of 20 data scientists and enhancing customer insights through predictive analytics. At IBM Research from January 2011 to June 2016, Francesco managed the Smarter Urban Dynamics team, which developed analytics for urban optimization. Earlier positions include coordinating the Network & Society group at MIT and various research roles that involved advanced analytics and urban studies. Francesco holds a PhD in Computer and Systems Engineering from Università degli Studi di Napoli Federico II.
