Originally from Texas, Brooke has lived in Georgia, North Carolina, and now Kansas. Brooke has a master's degree in Counseling from Colorado Christian University, and is a Licensed Professional Counselor and National Certified Counselor. She also has a master's degree in Biblical Studies from Houston Graduate School of Theology (2008), and is currently working on her PhD in Counseling and Psychological Studies. Person-Centered theorist Carl Rogers and Existential theorist Irvin Yalom inspire and validate Brooke’s therapeutic approach. Her experience in ministry and military life has well-prepared Brooke for her role as a therapist, and specifically, the intensity of crisis’ work. Brooke has continually served hurting people and learned the therapeutic value of authenticity, unconditional regard for others, and how to be comfortable with the uncomfortable. While previously working as an intern therapist for St. Francis near Ft. Riley, Brooke encountered severe client stories and became adept at Crisis and Trauma Intervention. Brooke offers a non-judgmental space, welcoming of any race, culture, religion, gender, and sexual orientation. She enjoys working with all age groups, and utilizes techniques from Affirmative Therapy, Child-Centered Play Therapy, Cognitive Behavior Therapy, Family Systems Therapy, Gestalt Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, Person-Centered Therapy and Solution-Focused Brief Therapy.
